Eric’s passion for fitness stretches all the way back to his upbringing in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Having come from an exceptionally athletic background, at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, he played Division 1 soccer while studying business management. During his junior year, he realized his passion for sports and fitness was substantially more then just a hobby.
To pursue a career in fitness, he decided to transfer to University of Louisville in Kentucky because it is one of the few schools in the country with a certified bachelor program in Sports and Fitness. While pursuing this degree, he coached several sports including soccer, tennis and gymnastics. Eric also trained to be a silent Bikram instructor. He worked in numerous fitness facilities and learned to master the structure and operations of effectively working with clients and members.
After receiving his B.A. in sports and fitness, Eric worked with LA Fitness as an Assistant Manager in Operations, and the Body of Change training program.
Eric’s training focus is to develop a lean body, with strong definition and powerful core strength. His training method incorporates high cardio intensity for short periods of time with strength training and flexibility. Eric enjoys using the gym facilities for fitness workouts, but also integrates outdoor activities, such as running courses through parks, plyometrics and athletic sports.
Eric complements his training method by creating balanced and effective nutritional plans based on an individual’s goals, for example, increasing muscle mass, maximizing weight loss or maintaining weight. His most recent client used Eric’s training and nutritional approach to reduce their weight from 192 lbs to 172 lbs in two months, gained muscle mass and definition, and now has maintained their weight through a customized training and nutritional maintenance plan. Eric works for Viva Fitness, owned by Stephen Paul Smith.

With optimal fitness and total recovery as the central guiding principles for his own life, Kevin has made it his professional mission to bring the same feeling of health and balance he enjoys to his friends and clients. As an experienced Certified Personal Trainer and intuitive Licensed Massage Therapist, Kevin’s approach has always been a harmonious combination of both disciplines that attends to the mind, body and soul. As Kevin tells his clients, it’s all about being your best self by caring for your body before, during and after a workout—an approach that addresses the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems and the key to Kevin’s whole body wellness philosophy.
Not surprisingly, the same thing that drives Kevin internally to stay healthy and keep his body in peak physical and mental condition is also what drives his professional approach. When working with clients, Kevin helps them push beyond their own boundaries by becoming active in new and challenging ways while encouraging them to recover faster and reduce stress afterward with massage. And while Kevin is happy to focus on either fitness or massage, it’s the combination of both fields that makes his approach truly unique. For those who’ve trained in the gym with Kevin and received therapeutic massages thereafter, this holistic way of thinking is what keeps them coming back year after year.
Too often, a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t account for an individual’s different abilities, ambitions and goals. That’s what makes Kevin’s complementary approach so unique. No matter how you engage with him, you can rest assured that he will design a training regimen that moves at your speed or offer a customized massage session completely based on intuition and how you respond to his touch. Together, you’ll discover your own personal path to greater health, energy, stamina and relaxation—and enjoy the same passion for fitness and relaxation that Kevin lives every day. It’s time to let go of your old programming, get in tune with your body and live a happier life.

At age 36 I made several lifestyle changes, one of which involved adding exercise to my schedule. As an adult I worked out with weights at home but was intimidated by even walking into a health club. Finally, I got up the nerve to join a gym. A friend helped me develop a routine and I was hooked. In fact, I liked the atmosphere so much I got a job at the gym.
Working at the gym lead me to realize I really did not know what I was doing when I was exercising. My friend’s help had only taught me so much. I was intimidated to come into the gym that I worked in. My body suffered. I developed several injuries that made it difficult to lift weights. I was going in the wrong direction. I decided to hire a personal trainer. With the help of the trainer I chose, my life was changed. Yes, that may sound dramatic but it is true. I learned why I had injured myself and how I could exercise without pain! I learned how to understand what I was doing as I exercised. I was not just pushing weight; I was contracting muscles. I saw results that I thought were never possible. My trainer was an inspiration to me and helped me as I chose to pursue a personal training career. He trained me in preparation for my certification. In 1997 I became certified through the American Council on Exercise.
